Originally from the Essaouira region of Morocco, black soap is a 100% natural product. It is widely used in the oriental cosmetics tradition, just like Argan oil or rhassoul, especially in the rituals of the hammam. The traditional black soap, is an all-natural substance that comes in the form of a vegetable and oily pulp without any grain or sometimes in liquid form, obtained from a mixture of oil and crushed black olives and macerated in salt and potash. There is black soap of different colors depending on the oil used in its composition. It can indeed be brown-black or green-black.
